In June 2022, Associate Professor of the Department of ETZNS Olena Matukhno completed a training course from the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) on the application of the updated standards ISO/IEC 17029:2019, ISO 14064:2019 and ISO 14065:2020 in the accreditation of greenhouse gas verification bodies. International competition of student research papers in the field of 101 ‘Ecology’ Congratulations to Vladislav Mulina, student of group 183-20-1, and his academic supervisor, Associate Professor Olena Matukhno, on receiving a first-degree diploma for winning the International Competition of Student Research Papers in the field of 101 ‘Ecology’. On 26 May, an open day was organised for applicants to the educational programmes ‘Biology’, “Ecology” and ‘Environmental Protection Technologies’, and the material and technical resources of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies were presented. STUDENT SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL CONFERENCE ‘STUDENT SCIENCE WEEK - 2022’ On 19 May 2022, despite all obstacles, a meeting of the section ‘Environmental Problems of the Region’ of the STUDENT SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL CONFERENCE ‘STUDENT SCIENCE WEEK - 2022’. Lecture for students of the Junior Academy of Sciences On 29 April, Prof. Artem Pavlichenko and Assoc. Prof. Yurii Buchavyi gave an open lecture for students of the Junior Academy of Sciences on ‘Modern methods of environmental research.’ Thanks to the support of the DAAD project ‘EcoMining’ (coordinators Prof. Kovrov O.S. and Assoc. Prof. Klimkina I.I.), modern equipment for the microbiological laboratory was purchased – an autoclave (steam steriliser), a centrifuge, distiller, nutrient media, special laboratory glassware and instruments, etc. At the Freiberg Mining Academy (Freiberg) from 20 September to 21 October 2021 a scheduled internship is being held for scientists Prof. Kovrov O.S. and Assoc. Prof. Klimkina I.I., postgraduate students Zvorygin K., Krasovsky S. and ecologists-masters of group 101m-21-1. On 27 September 2021, as part of the Strategic Environmental Assessment course for students of the Ecology educational and professional programme, the Director of the Environmental Policy Department of the Dnipro City Council, O. B. Semenko, and the Deputy Director of the Department, Head of the Municipal Ecology Division, I. A. Kozlova, held an open lecture. Open lecture by Professor Grigory Shmatkov On 15 September 2021, as part of the Strategic Environmental Assessment course for students of the Ecology educational and professional programme, Dr. Grigory Shmatkov, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Director of the Centre for Environmental Audit and Clean Technologies, Chairman of the Scientific and Technical Environmental Council of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Grigory Grigoryevich Shmatkov, gave an open lecture. From 20 to 24 September 2021, Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies Olena Matukhno underwent training under the programme for specialists in the field of monitoring, reporting and verification of greenhouse gases in accordance with the requirements of the Law of Ukraine ‘On the Principles of Monitoring, Reporting and Verification of Greenhouse Gas Emissions’, which was held at the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Natural Resources of Ukraine. ‘WORLD CLEANUP DAY IS THE LARGEST ANNUAL SOCIAL EVENT IN THE WORLD!’ On 18 September, students majoring in 101 Ecology and 183 Environmental Protection Technologies joined the event "WORLD CLEANUP DAY - THE LARGEST ANNUAL SOCIAL EVENT IN THE WORLD!" A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed with Academician of the International Academy of Sciences for Ecology and Life Safety, renowned expert in the field of environmental auditing , Professor Grigory Shmatkov, Director of the Limited Liability Company Scientific and Production Enterprise ‘Centre for Environmental Auditing and Clean Technologies’. Participation in the Ukrainian School of Mining Engineering Professor Artem Pavlichenko took part in the 15th International Scientific and Practical Conference ‘Ukrainian School of Mining Engineering’ held in Berdiansk and received a certificate from the ‘Mining Brotherhood’.
