On 15 September 2021, as part of the Strategic Environmental Assessment course for students of the Ecology educational and professional programme, Dr. Grigory Shmatkov, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor, Director of the Centre for Environmental Audit and Clean Technologies, Chairman of the Scientific and Technical Environmental Council of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, Grigory Grigoryevich Shmatkov, gave an open lecture.

During the meeting with Grigory Grigoryevich, students and university staff learned about the specifics of researching the impact of enterprises on the environment, assessing technogenic risk, developing environmental monitoring systems, and searching for optimal forms of environmental safety management based on them.

At the end of the event, the possibilities for joint scientific projects in the field of environmental monitoring and protection, as well as further employment of graduates of the department, were discussed.
