14.04.2016 Results of the contest “Landscape Ecodesign-2016” Traditionally, the Department of Ecology summarized the results of the Landscape Ecodesign-2016 competition on the occasion of the Environment Day. The competition was held as part of a workshop on Landscape Architecture, during which students present their own projects created with the help of a specialized software package Realtime Landscaping Architect. 14.04.2016 Work of the section “Environmental issues” On April 15, 2016, the Department of Ecology hosted the section “Environmental Problems” of the XI International Forum for Students and Young Researchers “Widening Our Horizons”. During the section, 16 reports of the forum participants were presented. In addition to the students of the National Mining University, students of the Dnipropetrovs'k Medical Academy and Kryvyi Rih Technical University took an active part in the section this year. 7.04.2016 Work of the section “Environmental problems of the region” On April 7, 2016, the Department of Ecology hosted the section “Ecological problems of the region” of the VII All-Ukrainian Scientific and Technical Conference of Students, Postgraduates and Young Scientists “Scientific Spring - 2016”. The conference received 56 reports from students, young scientists and employees of various Ukrainian higher education institutions. Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology Pavlichenko A.V. took part in the jury of the IX Regional Student Conference on Ecology “The Earth does not belong to us - we belong to the Earth!”, which was held at the Dneprodzerzhinsk Energy College on March 30, 2016. 21.01.2016 Open lecture “Healthcare of the nation” On January 21, 2016, the Central City Library of Dnipropetrovs'k hosted a public lecture by Professor A. Gorova “Healthcare of the Nation”. During the lecture, the priority indicators of morbidity of the population of Dnipropetrovs'k region, as well as the factors of environmental impact on health were discussed. 23.12.2015 Defense of the candidate's dissertation by D.V. Kulikova Congratulations to the assistant of the Department of Ecology Kulikova D. V. on the successful defense of her PhD thesis on “Reducing the level of environmental hazard of discharging contaminated mine water into water bodies based on its effective treatment” 2.12.2015 Conference “Youth Science and Innovation” On December 2, 2015, the Department of Ecology of the National University of Kyiv hosted the section “Environmental Problems of Regions” of the Third All-Ukrainian Scientific and Technical Conference “Youth: Science and Innovation”. Serhii Ryzhenko, Professor of the Department of Ecology at the NMU, Chief Physician of the Mechnikov Dnipro Regional Clinical Hospital, has been awarded the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, V degree.
