THE STAFF OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ECOLOGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION TECHNOLOGIES OF THE DNIPRO POLYTECHNIC NATIONAL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY WELCOMES PROFESSOR VALERII KOLESNIK ON THE OCCASION OF HIS 75TH BIRTHDAY!

For almost half a century, Valery Yevgenyevich Kolesnik's scientific, pedagogical and organisational activities have been associated with the Dnipro Polytechnic National Technical University, where he has worked continuously: since 1971 – in the scientific sector, since 1982 – senior researcher at the industry laboratory at the Department of Mine Ventilation, since 1998 – at the Department of Ecology and Technical Safety of Production.

 In 1970, he graduated from the Electrical Engineering Faculty of the Dnipropetrovsk Mining Institute (DMI). He defended his candidate's thesis in 1985. He was awarded the academic title of senior research fellow in 1988. He was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor of the Department of Management in Technical Systems in 1995. He defended his doctoral dissertation in 2003. He was awarded the academic title of Professor of the Department of Ecology in 2005.

 He lectures on the following subjects: Meteorology and Climatology, Modelling and Forecasting of the Environment, System Analysis of Environmental Quality, Modelling and Forecasting of Environmental Processes and Systems, and Conducting Scientific Research.

 He has published over 200 scientific and methodological works (6 monographs, 108 articles in professional journals, 14 methodological developments, 21 author's certificates and patents for inventions, and 15 articles in English).

 He supervises student work at All-Ukrainian conferences and competitions, bachelor's and master's theses, and doctoral dissertations. He is a member of interdepartmental seminars and specialised councils for the defence of dissertations at NTU ‘DP’. He is a member of the scientific and technical council in the Department of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration.

 He was awarded the ‘Shakhtar Glory III Degree’ badge (2002), the ‘For Loyalty to the University’ medal (2016) and the ‘Terpigorev’ medal (2017). Terpigorev" (2017).
