Traditionally, the Department of Ecology held the Landscape Design 2014 competition. The competition was held as part of a workshop on Landscape Architecture, during which students present their own projects created using a specialised software package called Realtime Landscaping Architect. The projects are usually based on household plots, parks and forest park areas, as well as urban wastelands and mining sites to be reclaimed.
This year, the students decided to show their imagination and creativity mainly in the design of their personal plots. As each of the submitted works was interesting and unique in its own way, the jury gave preference to projects that adhered to a certain style and, in addition to their aesthetic appearance, were also very practical. Thus, individual projects were awarded in the following nominations.
In the Japanese Garden nomination, the winner was Olga Ivanova, a student of the EOG-12-1 group, who managed to convey the atmosphere and philosophy of the Land of the Rising Sun in her work. In the ‘Colonial Style’ nomination, preference was given to the project presented by Ekaterina Shchur, a student of the EOG-12-1 group. Anastasiia Babanska, a student of the EOG-12-1 group, recreated in detail the project of her own suburban area and significantly improved it using elements of landscape design, for which she won the Real Project nomination.
We are pleased to note that the selected projects are close to professional quality in terms of reproduction. So we wish the winners inspiration and inspiration that is so necessary to make their projects a reality!
