🌿 TWO PHOTOGRAPHS. TWO ERAS. ONE STORY.

📸 Take a look at these two photographs. Almost three decades separate them. Together, they tell the story of our department — a story of achievements, challenges, change and, above all, people.

🕰️ The first photograph takes us back to 1998–1999. On the staircase of what was then the National Mining Academy of Ukraine stands the team of the newly established Department of Ecology. These were the people who laid its foundations, shaped its traditions, developed its first academic programmes, taught its first ecology students, and believed in the future of environmental education.

Today, we look at this photograph with warmth and gratitude. Sadly, many of those pictured are no longer with us. Yet their ideas, research, students, and contributions to environmental education live on.

❤️ We remember. We are grateful. We carry their legacy forward.

📸 The second photograph shows our department today. Different faces, different times, new technologies and new challenges. We have grown into a large, strong team of professionals and like-minded people.

We teach, conduct research, develop new ideas, support one another, and face challenges that our department's founders could hardly have imagined.

But some things have never changed — our dedication to our work, respect for knowledge, responsibility towards our students, and genuine desire to make the world around us a better place. 🌍

And perhaps the most meaningful part of this story is that we are not starting from scratch. We are continuing the story that our teachers and colleagues began so many years ago.

💚 We are grateful to those who laid the foundations. We cherish those who stand beside us today. And we look to the future with confidence and hope.

Our department's story continues. And we are writing it together. 🌱
