🌿 Eco-Education for Teachers: From Science to the Classroom

Today, the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies of Dnipro University of Technology welcomed 25 teachers of biology, geography, and ecology from lyceums and gymnasiums of Dnipro.

The event was held in cooperation with the Municipal Institution “Center for Professional Development ‘Educational Trajectory’ of the Dnipro City Council” and was dedicated to modern approaches to environmental education, current environmental challenges, and opportunities for integrating science into school lessons. 🌱

The participants were welcomed by Artem Pavlychenko, First Vice-Rector of Dnipro University of Technology and Professor of the Department, who emphasized the importance of environmental awareness, cooperation between the university and schools, and the openness of the university space for teachers, students, and future applicants. 🎓

As part of the meeting, Tetiana Yakovyshyna, Professor of the Department, delivered a lecture on environmental challenges of the modern city, including urbanization, industrial impact, and the quality of the urban environment. 🏙

Pavlo Lomazov, Associate Professor of the Department, delivered a lecture dedicated to environmental monitoring of water bodies. Special attention was paid to water as a valuable natural resource, its quality and safety, and the importance of regular monitoring for environmental protection. 💧

The meeting was held in the format of a live dialogue: participants actively asked questions, discussed practical examples for lessons, and considered opportunities for further cooperation, excursions, and the involvement of students in environmental initiatives. 🤝
