🌊 Water Monitoring in Dnipro Continues

During the city's environmental patrol, a specialist from the Department of Environmental Policy of Dnipro City Council (Instagram: @ecologiya_dnepr) conducted field visits to local water bodies. We were invited to join the water sampling and analysis at three locations in Novokodatskyi District.

Here are the results of the laboratory analysis:
🔹 Taromsky Quarry
✅ All indicators are within normal limits.

The water is clear, odor-free, and parameters such as mineralization, hardness, turbidity, and nitrate/nitrite levels remain within optimal ranges.

👉 Conclusion: The quarry is relatively clean with no significant anthropogenic impact.
🔹 “Unnamed Height” Quarry (Diiivka District)

⚠️ The situation here is more complex: elevated levels of mineralization, hardness, and turbidity were recorded.
This is due to geological conditions—water passing through rock formations becomes saturated with calcium and magnesium. Turbidity is linked to suspended soil, sand, or clay particles.

👉 Conclusion: Natural processes combined with some external influences.
🔹 Stream near Kryvorizkyi Lane

🚫 The most problematic site.

The water showed elevated nitrate and nitrite levels—indicators of domestic pollution and runoff. Foam, unpleasant odor, and significant microplastic contamination were observed.
👉 Conclusion: Significant anthropogenic pollution requires attention and monitoring.
