🌍🔬 COMMUNITY RECOVERY, RECLAMATION AND ENVIRONMENTAL RISK MANAGEMENT 🔬🌍 Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies Yurii BUCHAVYI participated in the international conference "Ukraine - Building Local Resilience: Community Recovery, Reclamation and Environmental Risk Management", which took place from October 29-31 in Lviv. 🏙️ 🤝 The event was organized with financial support from the Transition Promotion Program of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. 🇨🇿 About 60 people participated in the conference, including international environmental experts (Czech Republic, Finland, Latvia), representatives of local governments, public organizations, united territorial communities of Lviv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions, scientists, etc. 👥🌿 The conference discussed current issues for Ukraine in the following sections: During the conference, Associate Professor Yurii BUCHAVYI delivered a presentation on "Remote Monitoring of Phytocenoses and Technologies for Restoration of Soils Damaged by Military Actions", which presented the scientific achievements and experience of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies of NTU "DP" in the use of geographic information systems and remote sensing technologies for rapid assessment of plant communities and soil dynamics, methods for assessing damage to agricultural lands from hostilities, technologies for phytoremediation and reclamation of disturbed lands, etc. 📡🌱 We thank the coordinators and organizing committee of the conference for the excellent organization of the event, and the city and hotel "Lviv" for their hospitality. 🙏✨
