Dnipro University of Technology — Compliance with the Time

🌿🦋 As part of the events dedicated to biodiversity conservation and the World Environment Day, the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies hosted an online lecture entitled “Threats to Biodiversity and Measures for Its Conservation.”

🎓 The speaker of the event was Yuliia Voronkova, PhD in Biological Sciences, Associate Professor, who delivered an engaging and informative presentation on current threats to biodiversity, the causes of its decline, and practical approaches to ecosystem conservation.

🌍 Participants had the opportunity to learn more about the importance of biodiversity for sustainable development, discuss current environmental challenges, and ask questions about nature conservation prospects in Ukraine.
👏 We sincerely thank Yuliia Serhiivna Voronkova for her professionalism, inspiring presentation, and valuable insights into biodiversity conservation.
💚 Special thanks to all participants for their active involvement, thoughtful questions, and engaging discussion. Such events help foster environmental awareness and strengthen our commitment to protecting nature.
🌱 Together, we can preserve biodiversity for future generations!
🌿🦋 Biodiversity is not only about rare species. It is about life that keeps the world in balance 🌍✨

As part of Biodiversity Week 2026 🌱, the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies held an open lecture titled “Threats to Biological Diversity and Measures for Its Conservation” 🦉📚
👩🏫 The lecture was delivered by Yuliia Serhiivna Voronkova, Candidate of Biological Sciences, Associate Professor, who presented the topic in a meaningful, professional and accessible way, explaining why biodiversity conservation is one of the key challenges facing humanity today 🌿🌎

During the lecture, participants discussed how the concept of “biodiversity” 🧬 was formed and why it includes not only individual species of plants and animals 🌸🐾, but also genetic, species and ecosystem diversity 🌳

Special attention was paid to international approaches to nature conservation 🤝🌍, including the Stockholm Conference, the Convention on Biological Diversity, and modern concepts of species conservation in situ and ex situ 🏞🌱

🌍 Biodiversity Week is a reminder that every ecosystem consists of thousands of interconnections 🐝🌺

The disappearance of a single species, the destruction of natural habitats, or the pollution of water, soil and atmospheric air 💧🌫 can trigger chain reactions, the consequences of which are felt not only by nature, but also by people 👥

This topic is especially relevant for Ukraine 🇺🇦, where natural ecosystems are affected by urbanization 🏙, climate change 🌡, economic activity and the consequences of war. That is why environmental education, scientific discussion and the development of responsible attitudes towards nature are just as important as practical conservation measures 📖🌿

We sincerely thank Yuliia Serhiivna Voronkova for an interesting, insightful and highly relevant lecture 💚👏, and all participants for their attention and involvement in this important discussion on nature conservation 🌱🦋

💚 Biodiversity begins not only in protected areas or scientific research. It begins with our understanding that nature is not just a background to life, but its very foundation 🌍🌿
