At the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies of Dnipro University of Technology, innovative environmental technologies for restoring degraded and disturbed lands are being actively developed 💚

Under the supervision of Professor Oleksandr Kovrov, PhD student Volodymyr Tur, young researcher Valerii Malichenko, and students of the department are working on innovative phytopellets and biobriquettes for the phytoremediation of contaminated areas 🌿♻️

💡 The research focuses on creating special biocomposites that combine:
🌱 phytoremediation plant seeds
🌾 organic components
🪵 biochar and soil amendments
🌍 mineral and soil-based substrates

These materials can:
✅ support plant establishment
✅ reduce erosion and dust emissions
✅ stimulate biological soil recovery
✅ accelerate vegetation restoration on disturbed lands

🔬 Researchers evaluate seed germination, root development, biomass formation, and plant resistance to stressful environmental conditions. The results will contribute to the development of effective land reclamation technologies for territories affected by industrial activity and military impacts.

🌍 Such research is especially important for Ukraine’s future environmental recovery and sustainable post-war restoration.
