On 18 December 2020, Yurii Buchavyi, a representative of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies, together with representatives of the Environmental Policy Department of the Dnipro City Council, participated in the inspection and sampling of the Hnylokish River.

In our city, small rivers such as the Hnylokish are turning into sewage ditches. The pollution of water bodies leads to the swamping of territories and the deterioration of people's health. Many years ago, people used to fish in the river, and the water was so clean and clear that you could swim in it. Now, instead of fish, there is an unpleasant smell and mountains of rubbish. Residents of private houses have connected their sewage systems to the Hnilo-Kish and dump household waste into the river.

Yuriy Buchavy noted that it is necessary to reduce the amount of waste entering the river and to take care of its condition by cleaning the riverbed. It is also important to constantly and systematically monitor the condition of small rivers in our city and develop appropriate environmental protection solutions.
