Associate Professor Yuriy Buchavyi and Senior Lecturer Dmytro Koshka participated in a round table discussion on the topic: Environment and Industry: Searching for Consensus, which took place on March 5, 2020, at the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration.

The event was organized by representatives of the authorities, the leadership of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration, and official representatives of the Embassy of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Ukraine. During the round table, top managers of large plants and factories operating in the mining and related industries, representatives of environmental NGOs, activists, scientists, independent experts, representatives of donor organizations, and employees of the national initiative for transparency in the extractive industry discussed the results of the implementation of a comprehensive program for environmental safety and climate change prevention. The largest industrial enterprises in the mining industry outlined the main directions for minimizing negative impacts on the environment.

The materials and presentations from the round table discussions will be used in teaching the academic disciplines “Environmental Impact Assessment” and “Environmental Monitoring.”
