On 23 April, as part of the current stage of the DAAD project ‘Biotechnology in Mining – Integration of New Technologies into Educational Practice’, which is being implemented by the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection in cooperation with the Technical University ‘Freiberg Mining Academy’, a practical class in the discipline ‘Soil Science’ was held.   

As part of the event, Professor Hermann Heilmeier from the Institute of Biological Sciences at the Technical University ‘Freiberg Mining Academy’ (TU ‘FGA’, Freiberg, Germany) introduced 1st-3rd year ecology students to the specifics of soil sampling. 

It should be noted that equipment for soil sampling and preparation was purchased as part of the project.
