Dnipro University of Technology — Compliance with the Time

On January 24, 2018, the students of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies defended their master's theses.

In order to fulfill the current stage of the DAAD project “Biotechnology in Mining - Integration of New Technologies into Educational Practice”, which is being implemented jointly at the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies in cooperation with TU “FGA”, two master's theses were defended in English on the basis of dual supervision (students-ecologists of the group 101m-16-1 Podpryatova N.O. and Ivanova O.A.).

Within the framework of the event, a Skype conference was organized with the participation of Professor of the Institute of Biological Sciences of the Technical University “Freiberg Mining Academy” (TU “FGA”, Freiberg, Germany) Hermann Heilmeier.

Master's thesis of N.O. Podpryatova was performed under the supervision of Associate Professor I.I. Klimkina on the topic “Investigation of the possibility of using red-brown clay for the reclamation of waste heaps of coal mines in the Western Donbas”. The research was carried out on the basis of the Laboratory of Ecology of the Institute of Biology of the Technical University “Freiberg Mining Academy” (Freiberg, Germany) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Michael Schlömann and Prof. Dr. Hermann Heilmeyer and the Laboratory of Ecobiotechnology of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies of the National Mining University under the supervision of Associate Professor Klimkina I.I. On the topic of the diploma work 4 scientific publications were published.


Master's thesis by O.A. Ivanova, supervised by Prof. O.S. Kovrov, on the topic “Investigation of the level of environmental hazard of soil pollution by motor vehicles and development of ways to reduce it”. The results of the study were obtained at the Laboratory of Ecology of the Institute of Biology of the Technical University “Freiberg Mining Academy” (Freiberg, Germany) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Michael Schlömann and Prof. Dr. Hermann Heilmeyer and the Laboratory of Ecobiotechnology of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies of the National Mining University under the supervision of Prof. Kovrov O.S.


The thesis was supported by the German Academic Exchange Service under the project “Biotechnology in Mining - Integration of New Technologies into Educational Practice” and cooperation between the Technical University Bergakademie Freiberg (Germany) and the National Mining University.
