On 27 March 2014, the section ‘Environmental Problems of Stressed Regions’ of the V Scientific and Practical Conference of Students, Postgraduates and Young Scientists ‘Scientific Spring 2014’ was held. More than 30 abstracts were submitted for the conference, aimed at solving environmental problems of the Dnipropetrovska oblast and Ukraine as a whole. During the section, 19 reports were presented.

Traditionally, for the fifth year in a row, the section was attended by students of universities of I-II accreditation levels, winners of the regional scientific and practical conference EcoChem-2014. Students from technical schools and colleges in Dneprodzerzhinsk, Pavlohrad, Kryvyi Rih and Dnipro presented reports on the problems of soil, air and water pollution from industrial and motor vehicle emissions. During the conference, 9 master's students had the opportunity to test the results of scientific research obtained during their master's theses.

The students' participation in the conference gave them the opportunity to adapt to public speaking and use the comments that arose during the discussion of the reports to improve further research and enhance the quality of their theses.
