Defence of theses of masters and specialists.

From 20 to 29 January 2014, the Department of Ecology hosted the defence of theses of 41 specialists and 4 masters in the speciality 7.8.04010601 ‘Ecology and Environmental Protection’.

The topics of the diploma theses completed this year are aimed at solving urgent environmental problems of the city of Dnipro, Dnipro region and other regions of Ukraine.

The priority of the theses was to increase the level of environmental safety of coal mining and metallurgical enterprises, improve the environmental protection activities of industrial enterprises, namely the system of gas and dust emissions and wastewater treatment at mining enterprises, create an effective system of environmental monitoring in areas with different levels of technogenic load, and develop measures to improve the environmental safety of industrial production.

As a result of their theses, the masters substantiated the possibility of using highly sensitive and informative cytogenetic methods to study the state of the environment, and measures to reduce the environmental hazard of air pollution from thermal power plants, petrol stations and other industrial enterprises.

Most of the graduate theses analyse the efficiency of existing gas and dust emissions and wastewater treatment systems. Taking into account modern technologies for the treatment of gas and dust emissions and wastewater, recommendations for improving existing environmental protection systems at industrial enterprises in various industries are substantiated.
