From 18 to 23 November 2013, the delegation of NMU consisting of the Head of the Department of Hydrogeology and Engineering Geology Dmytro Rudakov and Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology Iryna Klimkina with the financial support of the Ministry of Education of Algeria took part in official meetings with the rectors' offices of the universities of Bordj Areridj, Guelma, Annaba and Setif, as well as the Higher School of Mining and Metallurgy (Annaba). The possibilities of cooperation between the NMU and the above-mentioned universities in the field of science and education were discussed.

In addition, the delegation took part in the II International Seminar on Mining and the Environment 2SIMINE13, which was held at the University of Badji Moktar Annaba, Algeria. Klimkina I.I. made a presentation ‘Prospects for the use of natural and synthetic coatings for the reclamation of coal dumps’ (co-authors: Fedotov V.V., Klimkina I.I.).
