On 22 November 2012, the Department of Ecology was visited by a well-known scientist Mykola Klymenko, Head of the Department of Ecology of the National University of Water and Environmental Engineering, Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, Professor, Honoured Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine, Academician of the UEAN, MANEB.

Mykola Oleksandrovych gave a lecture for students, postgraduates and teachers of the Department of Ecology, during which he introduced the audience to the environmental problems of water use and innovative ways to solve them. He drew special attention to the need to join forces with scientists of the National Mining University to solve important environmental problems and ensure rational environmental management.
