On 11 June 2013, first-year environmental students visited Rybalsky Quarry, a mining enterprise of HeidelbergCement Group, as part of their internship programme. Ksenia Kovalenok, the leading ecologist of the enterprise, who graduated from the Department of Ecology in 2010, introduced our students to the technologies of granite mining and crushed stone and rubble production, as well as to the issues of employee safety and environmental protection at quarries. The students were satisfied with the tour and look forward to further acquaintance with industrial technologies and enterprises.
