On 29 March 2012, the section ‘Environmental Problems of Technologically Loaded Regions’ of the III All-Ukrainian Scientific and Practical Conference of Students, Postgraduates and Young Scientists ‘Scientific Spring 2012’ was held. Forty-eight abstracts were submitted for the conference, which were aimed at solving environmental problems of the Dnipropetrovska oblast and Ukraine as a whole. During the section, 36 reports were presented. A special feature of the section was the active participation of students from universities of I-II accreditation levels, winners of the regional scientific and practical conference EcoChem 2012. Students from technical schools and colleges in Dneprodzerzhinsk, Pavlohrad, Kryvyi Rih and Dnipro presented reports on the problems of soil, air and water pollution from industrial and motor vehicle emissions. During the conference, 11 master's students had the opportunity to test the results of scientific research obtained during their master's theses. The students' participation in the conference gave them the opportunity to adapt to public speaking and use the comments that arose during the discussion of the reports to improve further research and enhance the quality of their theses.
